Recipe performance

Every recipe page shows accuracy and shot data drawn from your range sessions. Stats and charts fill in as you log more groups with that load. Basic stats are available to all users; velocity stats and the cross-firearm breakdown are Pro features.

Accuracy stats

Three numbers summarize how the load has performed across all your range sessions:

  • Best group: the smallest group size recorded, in inches.
  • Average group: a weighted average group size across all measured groups, weighted by number of shots per group.
  • Total shots fired: all rounds recorded as fired from batches of this recipe, drawn from the shot ledger. Pro accounts see all-time totals. Free accounts see the last 30 days.

Group size is optional when logging a range group, so best group and average group only appear once at least one measured group exists. Total shots fired updates whenever you mark ammo as shot from this recipe's batches, whether or not the shots are linked to a range session.

Group size chart

A line chart plots group size over time, with one data point per measured group ordered by session date. When you have groups at multiple distances, the chart shows a separate line per distance and a dropdown lets you filter to a single distance. Points at distances not selected are hidden.

The chart only appears once there is at least one group with a group size recorded.

Velocity stats Pro

When velocity data has been recorded for at least one range group using this load, three averages are shown: average fps, average SD (standard deviation), and average ES (extreme spread). These are averaged across every group that has the relevant data.

Velocity data is entered when logging a range group. See Chronograph data for how to record fps, SD, and ES.

Performance by firearm Pro

When you have logged groups for this load on multiple firearms, a breakdown shows average group size per firearm, sorted from smallest average to largest. Each row shows the firearm name, average group size, number of groups measured, and number of sessions. Firearms with no group size data for this load are excluded.

This section only appears if at least one group logged with this load has a firearm assigned and a group size recorded.
