Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about what Loadatum does and whether it fits your workflow.

Value Proposition

Why use this over a spreadsheet?
Spreadsheets don't deduct inventory when you log a batch, don't warn you when a charge weight falls outside your recipe's range, don't flag brass approaching its retirement threshold, and don't tie range session results back to the specific batch that produced them. They also don't work well on a phone at the range.
What does this do that a notes app can't?
Notes capture what happened. Loadatum captures what happened and what it means: cost per round derived from actual component costs, brass life across multiple firings, which of your loads shoots the tightest average groups, and how much powder you've burned month by month.
Can't I just use Google Sheets?
Yes, and many people do. Loadatum is for reloaders who track multiple calibers and loads, want a record that compounds over years, or want to log range sessions from their phone without managing a spreadsheet in the field.

Getting Started

Do I have to enter all my inventory before I can use it?
No. Inventory tracking is optional. You can turn it off in Settings and use the app purely for logging batch production and range sessions.
Can I start with range logging and add inventory later?
Yes. Turn inventory on whenever you're ready. Existing records stay intact.

Reloading-Specific

Does it track how many times I've fired my brass?
Yes. Each brass lot tracks times fired. You set a retirement threshold per lot or globally, and the app warns you when a lot is approaching it.
Can I track multiple calibers?
Yes, with no limit.
Does it support factory ammo alongside handloads?
Yes. Both can be logged against range sessions.
Can I log chronograph data?
Yes, as a Pro feature. Muzzle velocity, SD, and ES can be recorded per range group and reflected in recipe performance analytics.
Can I share my loads with other users?
Not user-to-user. The app publishes reference loads from verified reloading manuals that all users can browse and save as their own starting recipes, but sharing personal loads between accounts is not available.

Billing

Is there a free plan?
Yes. Sign up for free with no credit card required.
What does Pro include?
Firearm tracking, chronograph data logging, recipe and firearm performance analytics, and full analytics history with no date cutoff. Free accounts show analytics for the last 30 days.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Your subscription ends at the close of the current billing period.
Will I lose my data if I cancel?
No. All your data stays in the app. Pro-specific features are hidden while you're on the free plan but restored immediately if you resubscribe.
What payment methods do you accept?
Credit and debit cards via Stripe. The app never sees or stores your card details.

Privacy and Data

Who can see my load data?
Only you. Every user's data is completely isolated. Other users cannot see your inventory, recipes, batches, or range sessions.
Can I export my data?
Pro users can export their data from the Settings page. See Exporting your data for details on formats and what is included.
Is there a mobile app?
The site is built mobile-first and works well on any phone browser. Native iOS and Android apps are in development.
