Environmental conditions

This is a Pro feature. The Conditions tab on the Analytics page shows how temperature and wind conditions correlate with your shooting results for a selected caliber. It surfaces patterns across your range history that are difficult to spot when reviewing individual sessions.

Selecting a caliber

Choose a caliber from the dropdown at the top of the page. No charts appear until a caliber is selected. The selection is preserved in the URL so you can link directly to a caliber's conditions view.

Temperature correlation

A scatter chart plotting a shooting metric against temperature in °F. Switch between five metrics using the sub-tabs:

  • Group (in): group size in inches.
  • Group (MOA): group size converted to MOA using the recorded distance. Groups without a distance recorded are excluded from this view.
  • Velocity: velocity in fps.
  • SD: standard deviation.
  • ES: extreme spread.

The chart requires at least 3 range groups with both a session temperature and a group size recorded for the selected caliber before any data appears at all. When fewer than 3 data points exist for the currently active sub-tab metric, a note beneath the chart indicates there is not enough data yet for that view. When 3 or more points exist, a dashed trend line is overlaid on the scatter showing the direction of the correlation.

On the Velocity sub-tab, a temperature sensitivity label appears beneath the chart when a trend line is available. It shows approximately how many fps velocity changes per degree Fahrenheit, derived from the slope of the linear regression across your data points.

Wind correlation

Two views of how wind conditions relate to group sizes. Use the buttons above the card to switch between them:

  • By Wind Speed: a scatter chart of group size in inches against wind speed in mph. A dashed trend line is overlaid when 3 or more data points are available.
  • By Direction: a bar chart of average group size grouped by wind direction. Directions are ordered on the compass: N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW. If no wind direction data has been recorded for the selected caliber yet, a note appears in place of the chart.
